  • 闪电 VS 雷电:瞭望塔模式:可追责性与商业模式

    瞭望塔服务将对支付通道用户产生巨大影响。在技术早期发展阶段,研究激励模型以及不同设计是非常重要的,本系列先前的两篇文章也因此能够在社区里引发激烈的讨论。不幸的是,关于这一主题的研究还满是空白,并且存在着普遍的误解。例如:“我们不应该在一开始就担心用户体验与隐私保护,因为它们可以随着时间的推移而改善”。

    Watchtowers will have a tremendous impact on users of payment channels, so two previous articles of this series spiked great discussions in the community, because it’s important to research incentives models and different designs while the tech is in early development stage. Unfortunately, there is a lack of research papers on this topic, and there are widely accepted misconceptions such as “we shouldn’t worry about UX and privacy at the start, because they can be improved over time”.

  • 以太坊 1x乃是改变 “规则变更流程” 的一次尝试

    题目中所说的 “流程” 指的是修改以太坊规则的流程(有人会说成是“修改协议”,但是我会尽量避开“协议”这个词,免得一开始就混淆了概念)。关于规则的修改情况,下面有几个例子:

    1、新增 EVM 操作码

    2、更改 Gas Schedule(操作所需消耗的 Gas 比之前更多,目前还没出现过相反的情况,未来有可能出现)

    3、取消某些规则(例如,部署合约的字节码必须超过 24 KB)

    4、更改某些数据的含义和某些操作的作用

    By “process” here I mean something that produces the changes of rules in Ethereum (someone would say “protocol changes”, but I am going to try to avoid the word “protocol” here, because it would make things very ambiguous from the start). Some examples of changes of rules:

    1、New EVM opcodes

    2、Changes in the gas schedule (operations require more gas than before, the reverse has not happened yet, but it might happen in the future)

    3、Making certain things invalid (like deploying contracts with bytecode larger than 24 kB)

    4、Changes in what certain pieces of data mean, or what certain operations do.

  • 了解区块链及其解决的问题

    什么是区块链?当人们听说这项新技术时,首先会出现这个问题。创始人中本聪(Satoshi Nakamoto)甚至不是一个真正的人,而是化名或者也许是一群人。这引发了更多的问题,也使它有点神秘。

    区块链允许数字信息在互联网上分发但不复制。在这种情况下,它使用比特币,一种数字货币的形式,通过网络传输。区块链使用称为链的数据块。

    What is Blockchain? This question comes up first when people hear about this new technology. The founder, Satoshi Nakamoto, is not even a real person but a pseudonym or maybe a group of people. This raises even more questions and makes it also a bit mysterious.

    Blockchain allows digital information to be distributed but not copied, over the internet. In this case, it uses Bitcoin, a form of digital money, to be transferred over the online web. A Blockchain uses blocks of data which are called a chain.
